Gross vehicle mass Upgrades
Most modern 4×4 vehicles have an extremely low usable payload. Once you factor in some basic optional extras, or some tools, and a couple of adult male occupants, you’ve pretty much reached your legal limit.
Most manufacturers design their suspension for comfort above all else and tend to sacrifice carry weight and performance in pursuit of ride comfort.
If you’re planning on doing any serious work with your vehicle, or just carrying a larger payload, you should consider a GVM upgrade.
Why would I need a GVM upgrade?
- If you’re doing heavy or remote work with your vehicle and need to drastically increase your payload
- To avoid Insurance companies voiding a payout when they discover the vehicle was loaded beyond GVM
- To avoid fines and litigation if you are inspected and found to be in excess of your GVM
- To protect your business from claims for breach of OH&S or employee negligence
